How is Urinary Incontinence Investigated?

There are many techniques that can be used to determine the cause of UI:

Taking a detailed history

Doing a clinical exam

Blood tests

Urine tests

Ultrasound of the bladder
(visualisation of the bladder by recording the reflections or echoes of ultrasonic pulses directed into the tissue. This is the same technique as used for scanning babies in the womb in humans)

Plain X-rays (radiography)

Contrast X-rays (an X-ray procedure that uses a special substance-a contrast medium-to highlight tissues and organs that would not be visible otherwise)

Computerised Tomography (CT) Scan (uses X-rays and a computer to create detailed images of the inside of the body)

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)

Endoscopy (looking inside the body using an endoscope)

Is it urinary incontinence?
